Plans for the development of a 475 acre algae biofuel production facility in New Mexico were unveilled by Aquentium, Inc. today (17th August). In a statement issued by the company its says that its algae-based fuels will emit approximately two-thirds less CO2 than petroleum-based fuels at scale. Commenting on the announcement Aquentium President Mark Taggatz said; Algae-based fuels, one of the most promising technological developments to positively transform the world’s transportation industry. Fuel from algae is an extremely logical approach to meet the needs for a green solution to our dependence on fossil fuels. Fuel from algae is not just a laboratory experiment. The technology is ready now.
