DARPA awards $35m bio jet fuel research contract

A contract to produce fully compatible jet fuel from cellulose has been awarded to Logos Technologies, Inc. by the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The initial phase of the project will last about 18 months and is worth $19.6 million however, if all phases of the contract are completed it could last a full 36 months and be worth some $35 million.
