Renault unveils 2010 electric vehicle ad, says Twizy EV is coming to India

Renault is justifiably excited about its four-car line-up of electric cars, which includes the Fluence EV sedan, the Twizy EV, the Zoe Z.E. and the Kangoo Z.E. These four vehicles will enter production in the next few years, but it’s never too early to start letting the world know about this via a slick TV commercial.

Branded with the words “Electric Cars for All,” the ad is 90 seconds of strange. It starts with a lot of talk about how the car is the best thing ever (take that, sliced bread!) and ends with Renault saying it will, starting in 2011, “drive the cars forward again, towards people.” Look out, everyone! The global launches that Renault has planned for its EVs include bringing the Twizy to India in 2011. This bit of news was confirmed by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit during the New Delhi Auto Show this week. Dikshit told The Hindu that India, “Will give as many incentives as we can to such cars which do not contribute to pollution” to encourage sales.
