Back in 2006, Toyota recalled around 320,000 Prius models over a steering problem. That was a big deal, but it might be a footnote compared to a recall being considered for the latest Prius models over a problem with the brakes. While the number of hybrid vehicles affected will be slightly lower – the WSJ says that Toyota has sold 311,000 third-gen Priuses – the impact will likely be bigger because of all the interest in the Toyota recall story that’s been making such waves recently. Whether or not the 2010 Prius models are recalled has not been decided, but we expect more details soon. Stay tuned.
